Initially, the improvements gained from your neurofeedback training sessions are temporary. Similar to a consistent work out program, continued training allows the overall effects to last longer. As the changes continue to hold between sessions, trainings become less frequent and ultimately the need for additional training become unnecessary. Once a course of neurofeedback training sessions has been completed, the benefits are usually permanent. However, some people experience the occasional need for one to three "booster sessions", just to keep the brain on track. Another benefit to neurofeedback training is that as the brain becomes less reliant on medication or you may find the medications you do take are working better.
